The seeds are slowly ground between millstones hewn from the basalt rock of the Golan Heights, creating a thick paste which becomes the basis of the finished halvah bar. Sugars are slowly heated to the perfect consistency when they are added to the sesame seeds and combined with just a touch of soapwort which acts as a natural solidifier. The perfect balance of the sugars and the soapwort are what create the beautiful crispiness which can be found only in the highest quality of halvah.
